“Bush lied, people died”

Barry Obama is spooky…
Posted in Democrats, Liberal Fascism, Liberals, Presidential election on June 20, 2008 by HarryI am absolutely scared out of my mind that Obama might actually win. The more this guy says, the more I wish Hillary got the nod. It’s clear to me now why Obama would never discuss any specifics of his plans and policies in the primary campaign. Had he shot his mouth off like he has this week, voters may have pulled the lever for Clinton. Anyway, here’s a terrifying preview of where this socialist scumbag is looking to take us:
“Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably.”
This was a quote from an interview with the Wall Street Journal. The funny thing in the article was that they mentioned, “He spoke aboard his campaign bus, where a big-screen TV was tuned to the final holes of the U.S. Open golf tournament.” Hypocritical ass…
Two Beggars…
Posted in Funny, Poor on June 16, 2008 by HarryTwo beggars are sitting side by side on a street in Rome – one has a cross in front of him; the other one the Star of David. Many people go by, look at both beggars, but only put money into the hat of the beggar sitting behind the cross.
A priest comes by, stops and watches throngs of people giving money to the beggar behind the cross, but none to the beggar behind the Star of David. Finally, the priest goes over to the beggar behind the Star of David and says, “My poor fellow, don’t you understand? This is a Catholic country; this city is the seat of Catholicism. People aren’t going to give you money if you sit there with a Star of David in front of you, especially when you’re sitting beside a beggar who has a cross. In fact, they would probably give to him just out of spite.”
The beggar behind the Star of David listened to the priest, turned to the other beggar with the cross and said: “Moishe, look who’s trying to teach the Goldstein brothers about marketing.”
Senate Dems dumb as a box of rocks
Posted in Democrats, Gas Prices, Liberals, Presidential election on June 11, 2008 by HarryWould somebody in the Democratic party read up on taxes and business? Specifically, would the Dem Senators please buy a clue? These morons actually think that raising taxes on Big Oil and allowing people to sue OPEC will lower gas prices. How stupid are they? My nine-year-old connected the dots by himself. “Dad, if the company pays more, won’t the prices go up?”
Duh. When a business pays more in taxes, that increases their cost of doing business which means they have to charge more per widget to make a profit. Either Dems are incredibly stupid or they are incredibly naieve. I think it’s actually the latter. They have mastered the art of the prestige. They keep our attention focused on big bad oil companies with salacious comments like,
“Last year Exxon Mobile [sic] made $83,000 a minute in profits. Are they using all this profit to invest in alternative fuels? How about increasing refinery capacity? Oh no, they’ve got their hand out to us. This is the nerve…” (Senator Claire McCaskill)
What this moron didn’t bother figuring out was that while they were pulling in that amount of money, they were paying on the order of $100,000 per minute in taxes. This bloated, moronic congress reached in to the pockets of Exxon Mobil and took MORE in taxes than Exxon took in profits.
But who really pays corporate taxes? Not the company, rather their customers.
These “windfall” profits Dems claim the oil companies “enjoy” are:
- NOT excessive…their margin is less than 10%, whereas Coca Cola is making 25%
- legally obtained
- a sign that the company is paying substantial amounts of tax
- going into the investment portfolios of tens of millions of American workers. The overwhelming majority of Big Oil shares (over 75%) are held by retirement funds, mutual funds, and workers making less than $100K per year
A couple more thoughts to noodle…
- The CEO of Exxon Mobil made somewhere around $22MM last year. If he worked for free, that would reduce the price of a gallon of gas by only $0.002.
- What is an unreasonable profit?
- If you owned a business and the govt. said you can’t make more than 9% profit, would you bother?
- Exxon paid more in taxes in 2007 than the lowest 75% of tax payers COMBINED.
